Naming Strengths
Understand what is already working, not only what feels difficult. Strengths, interests, relationships, and protective factors all matter when finding a way forward.

The Counterpoint approach
Every person is more than test scores, diagnostic labels, or difficult moments. Psychological care can make space for complexity, emphasize strengths, and help the next step feel clearer.
Three guiding ideas
Understand what is already working, not only what feels difficult. Strengths, interests, relationships, and protective factors all matter when finding a way forward.
Collaborate with children, families, educators, and other supports to work through difficult moments and find practical ways forward.
Strengths, struggles, differences, protective factors, and difficult life experiences are all part of who we are. Counterpoint honours and appreciates the whole person, with the hope that clients can extend that same grace, understanding, and respect to themselves.
A core value
At Counterpoint Psychology, affirming care is more than a statement of inclusion. It is central to how Pamela understands people and how she practises.
Difference is not deficit.
Pamela has a particular passion for working with neurodivergent people, including those with ADHD and autism, and with members of LGBTQ2S+ communities. These are identities and ways of being that she values, respects, and genuinely celebrates.
Support does not begin with trying to make you appear more neurotypical. It begins with understanding your unique brain, identity, experiences, strengths, challenges, goals, and the environments around you.
Your identity is not something you need to explain, defend, minimize, or teach Pamela about in order to receive respectful care.
Whether you are exploring who you are, have known for years, use labels proudly, are still figuring them out, or prefer no labels at all, you are welcome here. Counterpoint is a place for the whole person and all of the different ways there are to be beautifully human.
Finding a way forward
Pamela can help clarify what kind of assessment, counselling, or support may be a good fit.
